From Passion to Pop-Ups: The Story of Hear Here, LLC

In 2020, as the world faced the crazy challenges of Covid, many of us found ourselves rethinking our careers, passions, and ways of making a living. Like so many others, I had to pivot. After years of teaching music, I found that transitioning to Zoom lessons was becoming more difficult—not just for me, but for my students as well. The personal connection, the energy, and the magic of in-person teaching just weren’t the same through a screen.

At the same time, I noticed a trend among my friends and colleagues. With businesses shut down and people stuck at home, everyone’s creativity really took off. Some were learning to make jewelry, while others baked banana breads and sourdough, friends were making handcrafted soap and unique artisan goods. What started as a way to pass the time soon became a necessity—many needed an income, but just as importantly, they needed an outlet and a way to connect with the world again.

As restrictions began to lift, I saw an opportunity to help. I reached out to my friends in local Parks and Recreation departments and restaurant owners, asking if they had spaces where these new makers and entrepreneurs could gather, showcase their work, and sell their products. With their support, I organized small craft fairs—just a handful of vendors at first—and quickly realized that I had stumbled upon something bigger than I ever expected.

What started as a way to support my friends soon grew into Hear Here, LLC- because you’ll hear it here first! I created a full-fledged business dedicated to organizing farmers markets and artisan markets throughout New Jersey. Over time, I refined my approach, learning how to promote markets effectively, attract the right mix of vendors, and create events that benefit both small businesses and local communities.

Today, I manage multiple farmers markets (six to be exact) and pop-up events (over 110 per year), providing vendors with the space and support they need to succeed. My mission remains the same as it was in those early days—to help small businesses grow, to create vibrant community events, and to celebrate the incredible talent and hard work of local entrepreneurs.

What started as a simple idea during a difficult time has become a passion and a career. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Welcome to Hear Here, LLC—where markets aren’t just about selling goods, but about building dreams.
