Hi, I’m Jenn, the Founder and crafty curator behind Hear Here

With over 32 years of teaching experience, I bring my passion for helping first-time and novice vendors succeed in pop-up and farmers markets. I take the time to get to know each vendor and their products, offering personalized advice on merchandising and market participation expectations. I also listen to vendor and customer feedback and strive to improve with every market I organize. I help connect small businesses with local communities through curated pop-up events and farmers markets and provide vendors the opportunity to showcase their products, engage with new customers, and grow their business in a vibrant, community-focused marketplace.

What does a Farmers Market Manager do?

The responsibilities can be so different but often include the following:

  • Planning and coordination of the market like market, layout and logistics and scheduling vendors for the market

  • I am in charge of vendor management like recruitment going through the application process with each vendor and compliance, especially for food vendors

  • There are logistical operations like setting up and tearing down of the site as well as on site management and security and safety for the vendors

  • I assist in advertising the market through channels like social media or flyers and signage. I also advertise via community engagement events.

  • I am responsible for financial management of the market, like budgeting for advertising and expenses, and fundraising, like seeking grants and sponsorship opportunities to support the market

  • I take into consideration, customer service actions, like giving feedback receiving feedback from customers, as well as acting as the information booth at the market

  • I have community relationships with businesses in town. I build a maintain those relationships with local businesses, community organizations, and government agencies.

  • I also implement practices to minimize environmental impact of the market, like cleaning up after everyone leaves and encouraging less use of plastics and eco-friendly products
